Hi, What type of network are you on? (i.e., home, work, school, ...) Do you use a proxy server? (if connecting via a work or school computer than the answer is probably \'yes\'). I'm a volunteer and my views are my own. News and Announcements and FAQ |

Hi, yes - we use a proxy server - at work - but for some reason it cannot download the data for the next task... |

Hi, The newest version of Boinc, 5.10.45, (which you already have) works better with proxy servers than older versions, although sometimes it is necessary to tell it what type of proxy it is. You do this via the <force_auth> tag in cc_config.xml. The tag should read either basic, digest, gss-negotiate, or ntlm - you\'ll need to ask the person in charge of the proxy which is the most appropriate. Setting up the cc_config.xml is a bit tricky, so please ask if you have any queries. http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/ClientMessages If this doesn\'t resolve the problem, then you may need to see if there is an alternative proxy you can use instead, or perhaps a direct connection can be set up. (PS I deleted the empty post above) I'm a volunteer and my views are my own. News and Announcements and FAQ |

Hi, I have the same problem for sometime so I downgraded to an older client (5.8.28/32). I have the same symptoms (errors) for all platforms I am using, Windows, Linux and OS X. I do not have a proxy but I think my ISP has an invisible proxy. My ISP is still a monopoly and I will have a better luck receiving an answer from the sphinx rather than from him. Anything I can do locally will be appreciated. Modifying the cc_config.xml maybe a wee bit challenging for me. I maybe able to handle a copy and paste solution. Thank you. |

Hi Dhiya and welcome to the forum. I\'ve looked at your list of computers which have been working very hard for CPDN, so thanks for that. I\'ve looked at at least one task on every computer and find that apart from #9 which currently has no model and #8 whose model sent a trickle on 28 March, they have all sent trickles today 29 March. I don\'t think you have a connection problem. Cpdn news |
