Windows Defender tells me: \"Description: This program has potentially unwanted behavior. Advice: Permit this detected item only if you trust the program or the software publisher.\" Could you please see to it that Microsoft knows of this project, in order to make Windows Defender accept the program? |

This message is not about the climate program, it\'s about the BOINC part. The BOINC developers know about it, and are dealing with it. BOINC version 6, nearly ready for release will be better able to deal with it, as well as problems caused by Vista. |

Vista and Boinc don\'t get along very well, there are a number of areas where Vista causes problems and XP didn\'t, and as Les says, the Boinc developers have been working on this for some time. If you take a look at the \'crashes and other problems\' readme (link in my signature), you\'ll find a small section dedicated to Vista, with some suggested work-arounds. I'm a volunteer and my views are my own. News and Announcements and FAQ |

Interesting. Apparently Defender can be downloaded to run on XP, as well as the usual Vista. Backups: Here |
