Welcome to the message board. That model, 6917669, is a \'slab\' model (HADSM3). That type of model sometimes begins to run very slowly and the temperature display then shows a blue world (an \'ice world\'). However, the other model on that machine is also a slab, 6917819 and has also slowed down. Similar computers (i.e. Intel/Windows) have gone further with both models than your computer - so it does not look like an ice world situation. Something else must be slowing the CPDN tasks down. Both tasks slowed at the end of November 2007. It\'s a long time ago to remember, but did anything change on the computer at about that time? |

When you open the graphics for these two models, can you see all the temperatures and colours on their globes? Cpdn news |

In that case you should abort both slow-running models. If new models also run slowly, then it would be a good idea to test the stability of the machine - climate prediction is more demanding than most other projects. You could try running any memory and disk diagnostics that came with the machine, and have a look at the hardware section here. Best of luck. |
