Earlier this month I noticed that BOINC Manager is often unresponsive or slow. Today, after defragmenting and Windows reboot I had a look at my stdoutdae.txt file, and found the following messages, constantly repeated since June 09
I suspect that this is the reason for the slowdown, but what could be the problem? What is that \"state file\" mentioned in the message? (Running on Windows XP SP3) |

Possibly client_state.xml and client_stat_prev.xml If you restored from a backup on a cd/dvd and left these as read_only, then that would explain it. |

That was quick - thanks! I will check these two files. Also found this info how to monitor files http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/Error/Can%27t%20delete%20previous%20state%20file |

My suspicion is that it was Copernic Desktop Search. I have stopped the indexing, and it hasn\'t happened since. I need to find out how to exempt the BOINC folder from being indexed. |
