I was just browsing the cpu comparison database at http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/cpu.html, and I noticed that every Windows computer reports a cache size of 976.56kB, while in Linux the values are different for the same CPU model. For example, I have an AMD Athlon XP 2500+, and the cache is reported as 512kB, but in every Windows listing for this CPU it is listed as 976.56kB. I was wondering if this a bug in Boinc, the climate prediction program, or the O.S.?

Using: Boinc 4.05, climate prediction version 4.03, Slackare 10.0, 2.6.8-rc2 kernel, AMD Athlon XP 2500+, 512M RAM, 512M Swap.

I have a Pentium II with a L2 cache of 512kB running SuSE Linux 9.1 and BOINC sees a 976.56 cache. Also swap space is reported 0 in one work unit and correctly in another.
