Hey folks. I\'m not sure if i have an issue or not. I\'ve been running a model for just over 500 hrs (not bad for my little P4 with HT). Anyways, I have made it to phase 3. However, when I go to show graphics, the globe is just monochrome. Here\'s a link to the task 7536632. In poking around on the other tasks for this work unit, I can\'t tell if it\'s worthwhile to keep running this or not. BOINC Mgr is predicting another 221 hrs until completion. I remember reading in another thread this morning that if a model become monochrome to consider aborting it. Any ideas? Thanks. Wendy Wendy Check the BOINC Wiki for help |

Slab models have several problems when they change phase, one of which is that the manager loses contact with the model, and no longer shows what\'s actually happening. The text also because \'blocky\'. The cure for this is to (menu)Exit from BOINC, and then re-start it. If it\'s still monochrome then, you may have to abort it. |

Thanks Les. I had recently upgraded to BOINC 6.2.18 and had the unit paused while I was running some SETI Astropulse units. The combo of Astropulse and CPDN causes both to slow way down. Anyways, I had resumed the CPDN unit and noticed the monochromatic state but hadn\'t restarted the client. As usual, your fix worked. I was still a bit concerned though by the unit when I looked at the other completed ones. But I\'ll let it run, just on the off chance that it tells the scientists something different (or maybe the same).... Have a great day/night depending upon your time zone. Wendy |

Each task from a workunit can be expected to produce slightly different results so they\'re all wanted and used. Some of the moderators tested this two or three years ago by passing the same model to each other and comparing their results. The graphs were similar but definitely not identical. Cpdn news |
