My Climate Model seems to have crashed into a Snowball Earth. The Global temperature is uniformly as low as the graphic will show and I have low level cloud all over the oceans but clear sky above the continents. Is there any point in continuing with this workunit? It still has over 700 hours of processing to go.

The simple answer is no, there isn\'t any point continuing.

However, there are a couple of caveats:

1. Another user with the same \'platform\' - Windows/Intel - has got further with that model than your computer did. Normally, when a slab or mid-Holocene model goes snowball, then all models in that work unit on the same platform go snowball. So, it may be that something went wrong on the PC and corrupted the model - in which case, if you have a backup, then restoring the backup would probably get the model running again.

2. The graphics are blue to start with. On a fast machine they show the correct colours pretty much instantly, but on a slow machine people are sometimes caught out by the length of time it takes to show the graphics correctly.

There\'s another user in that work unit about to hit the same point. If you do have a backup, you could wait for that model. Otherwise, sadly, it\'s a goner.

Darn! I\'ll abort the job then. I don\'t have a backup so I can\'t restore it. No point in crunching away on a lost cause. I\'ve seen plenty of colours in the graphics before, so I don\'t think it just the slow machine. Can be blue for two or three hours in fact.
