Since a recent OS reinstall reinstall I have not been able to make a viable backup on one of my computers. It has an AMD single core processor with 1GB of RAM. It is running XP.BOINC is version 6.2.19. CilmatePrediction is the only project that I am running. The problem is that part of the $BOINC program seems to be hanging open. When I make the backup, I exit the BOINC manager as usual, navigate to the BOINC folder and copy the entire contents to a backup folder in My Documents. The problem is that I get message stating that the boinc_lock file cannot be copied because it is in use by another person or program. Apparently it didn’t close when the manager did. I am the only user of this computer and there is only one user account. Rebooting doesn’t help. |

That\'s because, with a service installation, the worker daemon, which is a Windows service, isn\'t shut down with Exit in the manager. Thanks Les I don\'t like to be without a recent backup. I tried it and was able to make my first successful backup in several days. |
