I have been running two tasks HadSM3 and HadAM3. My project preferences are set to \"No New Tasks\", however when HadAM3 was 97% complete a new HadAM3 task was sent. This is the first time that I have completed a task and I welcome the new task but its appearance was not what I was expecting. Any enlightenment? Cheers |

The button labels can be confusing. If the button shows \"No new tasks\", you\'ll get new tasks. If it shows \"Allow new tasks\", you won\'t get new work. What is shown in the \"Status\" column is accurate, though. "We have met the enemy and he is us." -- Pogo Greetings from coastal Washington state, the scenic US Pacific Northwest. |

I may have been incorrect in stating \"project preferences\", perhaps I should have said Project Commands. When I place the cursor over this button it states \"Don\'t accept new tasks for this project\" Cheers |

BOINC will obey whatever shows in the Status column of the Projects section. When the Status column says \'No new Tasks\', the button will have toggled back to saying Allow New Tasks. That\'s so the button is ready for you to change the situation again when you do want a new model. If you are attached to several projects you can have some of them set to NNT but others allowing new tasks. In the Activity menu you can suspend network activity to prevent BOINC contacting the servers. You\'ll then be safe to experiment with the NNT button. Just don\'t experiment with the Reset button as you\'d lose your running model! Cpdn news |
