Hi, Just started using BOINC and it runs very well on my 32bit Vista machine but it freezes on my 32bit Windows 2008 server. Anybody else tried to use Windows 2008? /Skotte |

Hi, Which version of BM are you using ? I have run a cpdn model from the beta site on a HP P4 server with a fresh install of Windows Server 2008 (download version) under BM 5.10.X. The model ran OK for several days, it\'s now returned to the normal host. |

I am using BM 6.4.5. I connect to the server using remote desktop with /admin switch. It is a P4 machine with 1.5 GB of memory. |

This is from the FAQ:
However, 6.4.5 was rushed out so as to have a version which supported CUDA. Because of this, a lot of changes were left out, possibly including the change which would allow 6.* to be used on domain controllers. |

This is from the FAQ: OK, good to know. But my server is not a domain controller. |

This is from the FAQ: BOINC normally runs OK on Domain Controllers. The problem is with the new security model (BOINC runs under limited security accounts in v6) - the windows installer can\'t create the new accounts on a Domain Controller. And yes, this is one of many bugfixes and enhancements due for v6.4, but now pushed back to v6.6 by the CUDA rush-out. |

Hi, I did some brief testing of a new server running 2008 64-bit, using BOINC v5.10 (for the installation reasons already described) and the Einstein project. It seemed to run just fine, and the other people testing other processes on the machine didn\'t notice any freezes ;-) |
