Can you tell me what\'s happening here? Is this normal? Is this work unit\'s service lost forever? Is there something I can do to make this work as it should, and as it has in the past? On my Linux/Ubuntu machine, I completed a work unit several days ago. It keeps trying to upload several times a day, and keeps coming back with messages like the following. The most recent news in the news and announcements thread here talks about uploader1 being down. Checking the server status here shows it is still down. You can look in your client_state.xml to see that your file is trying to go to that upload server. I hope it is coming up soon as I have several uploads waiting for its return. |

Hi Wilhelm, welcome to the forum. One of the CPDN upload servers has been down since last week. Milo has had difficulty with installing some of its programs and had to start the job again. The server could be down for another day or two. Please suspend BOINC network activity for this computer until the server is functional again. Do this in your BOINC Manager Activity menu. BOINC will then stop trying to contact the server. The model zip file upload will be accepted by the CPDN server for 2 weeks after the first upload attempt. Just in case BOINC abandons the upload of this zip file after a lot of failed attempts (this can happen), I think you should also exit completely from BOINC then make a backup of the complete contents of your BOINC Data folder now while the complete zip file is still in the model\'s file. If the upload fails later this week, you would be able to restore the backup and make BOINC do the upload again. After making the backup you can open BOINC again and let your model continue to crunch. (Hi, Geophi!) Cpdn news |
