One of my machines finished two work units today, and according to the Boinc Manager, has two new ones. No problem. However, when I look at the info online, it suggests it has downloaded three new ones. What\'s going on here? |

However, when I look at the info online, it suggests it has downloaded three new ones. The 3rd unit failed with computation error. I am complaining that insufficient notice of this is given to crunchers in my thread All hadcm3ivolc units fail You will see the explanation and remedy using preferences in that thread (from Thyme Lawn). On my Mac all volc units fail. You are using the other fortran compiler where they do succeed. Keith |

Keith[/quote] Actually, I did do something a bit silly, posting in the Mac\' Q&A section when the host in question is running Windows XP! I am using two Macs as well, but this time it\'s not a Mac which has the problem. So whatever happened, I don\'t think it was the Fortran compiler issue. I have altered my prefs to avoid that problem with the Macs. |

It is sometimes the case that a \'phantom\' work unit appears server-side but not in BOINC Manager. The usual explanation for this is that the download transaction didn\'t complete. I\'ve had a couple of these: untidy but benign. [NB Thread moved from Mac forum.] |

Ok, thanks for the info - and correctly re-filing my post :) I did see some HTTP server errors in my log while the new work units were being requested. |
