My computations crashed, or just stopped with eventually zero progress reported. After an update, and a request for new work, I got the following: No work sent, need more disk space (I can\'t ever remember restricting Disk space), there is plenty available. Also the system wants more RAM, above and beyond what the system requires for its regular day to day work namely a back up system. Should a RAM upgrade be required, I\'ll have to say Sayonara.. Pity. Oh yes, I run Boinc 5.3.13 Any Suggestions?? |

Disk space can get used up by crashed models, which need to have their folder removed manually. BOINC disk space is different to HD space - you have to specifically tell BOINC how much of the total disk space it can use. Check the Disk tab in the manager; this will give you a rough idea of how much space there is. One of the models is set to not be sent if there is less than 1.5 Gigs of ram. This is because it\'s a Hi-res model, plus allowance has been made for where the computer is running Vista, which needs a lot more ram than previous OS versions. Unfortunately, this minimum memory message gets sent to ALL computers with less than 1.5 Gigs, regardless of the model selected in the server preferences. Just ignore the message. BOINC version 5.3.13 is rather dated by now. The last 5.* version is 5.10.45 However, this project, like several others, has moved on to the latest 6.* version, and some computers, in some circumstances, will be unable to display the new graphics.
