climateprediction.net - 2004-09-05 20:17:45 - Result 1qzy_100102481_0 exited with zero status but no \'finished\' file Second time in two days a unit has died with the error message. It may be linked to my wife logging on first (starting boinc on her desktop) then me changing user but not logging her out. Anyone had similar experiences? |

I too had this problem (I use only one account on Win). Had this on three different machines. After having resetted all the projects on this machines (as suggested by the error message), it happened again, and again, and... then I detached from climateprediction. Hope there will soon be an 'official' statement on this and a new app version which fixes this problem. Until then - I'm out of CP. Don't want to lose hours of work. The error is generated when BOINC 4.08 0r 4.09 (but not 4.05) detects that an application has exited but there is no boinc_finish_called file in the slots directory the application was using. So I guess it points to an abnormal termination of a CPDN program. Join us here |

I have this error message too. I have resetted the project and it happened again. What is happening? What can we do to resolve this problem? |

The new Win version up (4.04) was built using newer BOINC components, so perhaps it works better with 4.09? I haven't seen this error here. |

HM, I saw this error message with LHC@Home ... The Box was running CPDN and LHC EDIT: All my boxes are running BOINC 4.09 ... Supporting BOINC, because it is really a great concept ! |

I had this happen to me. I exited and restarted the client and it got things moving again.
John Keck -- BOINCing since 2002/12/08 -- |

My last run finished, but my unit has been discarded due to "Client Error". It is frustrating to try to figure out "net stop boinc" (whatever the hell is that, anyway?) every single time I put my laptop in standby or hibernate, which is at least 8 times/day. I'd like to be put on some sort of alert queue to when a fix to this is deployed. Until then, it's back to classic SETI@home And what is 'restart', which is what I'm asked to do if there is an exit without a saved file? I've downloaded 4.19, and it is working on the previous file, which has the same problems as the last one. I imagine I'll just have to deinstall all of BOINC then reinstall to erase the corrupted working file. |
