I'm running a climateprediction.net project and I have just realised that I'm suddenly computing a new task. But since I can remember, I have had only about 80% finished two days ago. This seems to me quite suspicious. So, is there a way I can find out, if the previous task was finished and sent properly? Note: Yesterday my system (Vindows Vista) crashed and I had to use System Restore, could it be somehow connected? |

That model crashed, and it would have been the computer failure. To see your models, go to your account on the project: 1) Click the button to the left of here labelled Your account or 2) In the Projects tab of your BOINC manager, there is a button with the same label. When there, look for Tasks towards the bottom, and click on View Select the model that you want from the Task ID column. For detailed messages, click the + symbol. Backups: Here |

Firstly, I would like to thank you for your reply. You were right that the model crashed... I guess there is no way I can make it work again, since I didn't make any backups so far (unfortunately). And if there is no way how to complete that task, does it mean that the whole computing (almost 580 hours) was totally worthless? |

How useful partial models are, is something that only the researcher who is running each experiment would know. You can read about the different experiments here. It's possible to select which type of model you get, in the climateprediction.net preferences on your Account page. Tick the type(s) that you want, and leave the others blank. Backups: Here |
