I paused then exited my climate model as I always do before rebooting my computer. This had always worked. This morning, however, I found that, although the icon did disappear from the tray, the model is still running. Without the icon, I don't know how to safely shut the program down before rebooting the computer. Any suggestions, or reasons why this happened? Thanks.

Suggest that you restart the Boinc Manager. Assuming you are using WinXP: Start > All Programs > Boinc > Boinc Manager. Then pause BM and exit as you normally do. That has worked for me.

Occassionally I have seen the BM icon disappear but CPDN processes are is still running, or find that two BM icons are in the tray after stopping/restarting. No good idea why yours did not stop CPDN this time, so your guess is as good as any.
