HW: Lenovo T60 laptop Intel T2400 @ 1.83 GHz Dual-core 2GB DDRAM >25GB free HD space SW: WinXPPro2003 SP3 Boing 6.6.20 hadam3p v606 Visual Fortran debugger pops up dialog after a few hours of running (splitting CPU time with SETI): severe (38) error during write, unit 8, file <yadayada>\tmp\pipe_dummy. A stack trace is dumped, without symbols. In hadam3p_um_6.06, the routines are identified as: 0084E86A 0084AE49 007D2F4D 007D219B 007AB5D0 00738A6A 007805C7 called by a kernel32.dll routine at: 7C817077 I just recently loaded this SW (mid-May?), and it has been happening pretty consistently when I leave the laptop running overnight. I thought initially that it might be due to the wireless LAN card powering down during "inactivity", but this morning I saw the crash while I was surfing the web and doing other work on the machine. It might have to do with a virus scanner. Another thread on the subject http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=6587&nowrap=true#36766 |
