I\'m new to boinc & climateprediction and when I got my first WU I noticed that it consists of several different files, does this mean that when each file is completed it will upload to climateprediction or will ALL the files be processed first?

Each workunit consists of a few files. As a general rule BOINC will download a workunit and an application to run it as a minimum. The application will only have to be downloded once per revision. CPDN I believe downloads 3 apps, 1 data file and then unzips them into a directory structure under boinc\projects\climatepredition.net\ once downloaded.
