I set boinc to have a cache between 10 and 20 days, but now I see there are 4 CPDN Wu on my pc (PIV 3.0GHz). One Wu should take from 20 to 25 days so I now have CPDN work for about 100 days.

I has only been about 2 months since my last math exam, and I believe 100 isn't between 10 and 20.

So, if I may ask, what is wrong here? (or what did I do wrong? skip math class maybe? :) )

Since I can't see your computers, how many processors does your comp with the 4 CPDN wu's have?

that's based on the boinc benchmark code, so if you got a higher than usual benchmark score from boinc it will "overestimate" the amount of work you can get

( I hope it was underestimating so the wu's get done in 20 days :) )

Thanks for the reply

Maybe that 's the reason why my Preditor wu's all have a higher claimed then granted credit, some even 2x.
So all I have to do is make sure I'm listing to mp3's when Boinc runs a benchmark ;)

If you are running other projects, you definitely want to adjust your cache. With your settings, you are guaranteed to get more work than you can complete on time... :(

And listening to mp3s while benchmarking will have little to no impact on the results. The benchmark results like the actual processing time are not based on wall clock time, but CPU time. So having another application running will only slow the process down, not affect the results much.

Yes, I also run seti and predictor, but I have no work from predictor (as many may know) and 40 wu's from seti. CPDN and seti get the same amount of cpu time (50-50 for now) so all the seti wu's should be finished in 5 days (not even close to 100 ;) )

I think the CPDN server has more faith in my pc's crunching abilities then the seti server has ;)

Maybe it's supposed to be CPU time but on my single WinME box running SETI-boinc & Classic CPDN at the same time, the SETI 'CPU time' is counting up at wall clock rate yet SETI-boinc is getting less than 15% of the CPU.
