Tried ./viz and... very nice if only a little slow. 1: Can you zoom in to get a closer view of the planet or just one continent even? 2: Can you set an update time step rather than have it continuously (CPU hogging) update itself? (Or where have I missed the instructions for all this? (:-)) Regards, Martin Mandrake 10.0.1 GNU/Linux |

I can only answer the "a little slow" part of this question... If you have accelerated GL drivers installed (libGL and libGLU), you can make the viz tool use them instead of the ones it ships with. go into the projects/climateprediction.net directory, and "mv libGL* ..". This will move the libraries that ship with the tool, so they won't be found, and it will use the ones installed by your distribution instead. If viz breaks after doing this, then move the libraries back into their original location. This makes the viz tool much more pleasant to use on my system (MDK 10.0, Athlon 2500+, nvidia 5200FX). However, it does still take 50% CPU, so you don't want to leave it running. HTH TimeZone |
