Sorry for my English. What does it mean the exit code -5? All the WU are crashing http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/results.php?userid=6407 Seti, LCH and Predictor are running well. Thanks |

I have got the same problem here, but only with cp workunits, my SETI workunits run fine. What could it be? Latest BOINC running under WinXP Pro + SP2. |

Latest BOINC running under WinXP Pro + > SP2. -5 is a "catch-all" error code for a crash in CPDN, we would have to look on the server for the exact reason. Usually it's a "Negative Pressure Value created" which is often errors from the FPU in overclocking. |

climateprediction.net - 2004-09-10 16:23:41 - Unrecoverable error for result 1z31_100113064_0 ( - exit code -5 (0xfffffffb)) after 5hours of computation. and befor an error message http://www.daburna.de/error.jpg and by the way, my CPU isn´t overclocked too (I think so). What could I do to make CPND working without any crash??? WIN XP SP2 AMD Athlon XP 3200+ 1GB DDR Ram (Dual Channel) |

> What could I do to make CPND working without any crash??? There is some useful advice on hardware issues under CPDN in the anouncements by UK_Nick in the <a href="http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewforum.php?f=23">hardware section</a> of the other CPDN message board. I would recommend that you run one of the hardware tests he suggests. Even if you aren't overclocking, you could have a flakey memory module, for example. And the advice in the maintenance section is worth looking at anyway. |

I ran the memtest and saw that my CPU runs only with FSB 199 (should be 200) so the CPU only has 2,189MHZ instead of 2,2MHZ...perhaps that´s the fault. I try now to update my BIOS... |

(Folding@home had also a computation error 30minutes ago (before the bios update) ...so it is my hardware!) |

Of course is not a hardware issue, my processor is not overclocked and SETI units always worked fine but with CP fails. I'm running Winxp SP2 on Athlon 2600+, Gigabyte 7VAXP-A Ultra, 2x512Gb Jetram. |

CPDN stresses the CPU and memory subsystem more, and for any individual work unit, over a MUCH longer period of time. A good resource for checking your system out is at: http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=2124 With hardware specific stress tests suggested at: http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=2126 While some of the above material is talking about the "classic" pre-BOINC CPDN, most of it is still valid. |

I have got the same problem here, but only with cp workunits, my LHC workunits run fine. What could it be? Latest BOINC running under WinXP Pro SP2 { climateprediction.net - 2004-10-06 00:46:12 - Unrecoverable error for result 31j7_000163386_2 ( - exit code -5 (0xfffffffb)) climateprediction.net - 2004-10-06 00:46:12 - Deferring communication with project for 1 minutes and 0 seconds climateprediction.net - 2004-10-06 00:46:12 - Computation for result 31j7_000163386 finished } |
