I haven't tried this, but I usnderstand from other posts that if you do not exit BOINC_GUI first, nasty things can happen. I don't know if this one of them. |

Make sure you are in the Boinc directory when you issue the command from a DOS box. (boinc_cli.exe -install) should do it. |

Neat app except it shows a lot of my machines as 'suspended' or 'paused' when they're actually running. :-? |

> Neat app except it shows a lot of my machines as 'suspended' or 'paused' when > they're actually running. :-? Not shure, because I still use 0.8.1a ... I watched this phänomen, when I was using file-modus; since I use RPC-Mode, I see running for running ... I guess, Caroline should show running ? Then I guess, you are using file-mode. If you switch to RPC-Mode, you will miss some information until latest BOINC-Client (4.08 or 4.09 ?) will be out. With the change from Boinc 3.x zo 4.x there have been several problems with RPC-Mode that should be fixed with BOINC 4.08 or 4.09 The author has a weblog on his homepage ... Hope this helps Oh, I forgot: If you want to change to RPC-Mode, the individual BOINC-Clients have to be allowed, that BOINCView asks them per RPC. One way is to add the startparameter -allow_remote_gui_rpc, the other way is via an additional file. Take a look on the side of the author for more details about this. Supporting BOINC, because it is really a great concept ! |

Neat, thanks Yeti, I'm now using RPC-mode & 'remote_hosts.cfg'. :-) |

As always - I've put BOINCview in a sub-folder in the main BOINC folder, so the whole thing gets backed up when I run my daily backup of BOINC. ;-) |

About the suspended/running thing. That should only happen when you use filemode and cpdn is running. If an app doesn't do checkpoints within 60 seconds, that's the case with the cpdn app, BoincView thinks the client has suspended. Of course it could also happen when you change the 'Write to disk at most every' preference to a higher value than 60 seconds. :) |
