Hi,

My first two tasks have finished and no longer show up on the BOINC manager monitor and seem to have completed all activities.

However they are both still present in memory and showing up the odd bit of CPU usage occasionally, albeit very trivial.
Viz :-
PID Process Name User CPU R Mem V Mem
39089 famous_6.11_i686-apple-da boinc_proj 0.0 7.8 MB 602.7MB
39090 famous_6.11_i686-apple-da boinc_proj 0.1 7.8 MB 602.7MB

Is this normal and will they get deleted automatically at some time or is there a problem such that I have to quit and delete them manually??

I'm running the software on a Mac with an Intel 3.06 GHz Core 2 Duo processor.

Thanks in advance.

As mentioned here in the News and Announcements thread at the top of the Number crunching section, some of the servers have a lot of problems at the moment.

If you leave the bits and pieces where they are, BOINC will (should :) ) deal with it in time. However, this may not occur until early next month, which is when the two new programmers are now expected to arrive.

Thanks Les - I'll just keep an eye on it.
