I run two computers. I would like to set the computing prefs independently but when I go to computing prefs I don't see any way to do this. I see that one can set up "home" and "work" prefs but there doesn't seem to be a way to specify a computer when setting prefs. |

If the preference you want to vary is present in the 'home', 'work', 'school' or default set then two computers can be made to behave differently by setting the location of each of the computers (i.e. to 'home', 'work', 'school' or default), which is done from the 'location' drop-down list at the bottom of the computer details page. This method clearly won't work if you have more than four computers. Alternatively, some general preferences can be set on the machine itself using BOINC Manager, 'Advanced View'. The precise location of the options depends on the version of BOINC Manager. The BOINC Manager preferences do not include project preferences, such as what model types will be downloaded. |
