If one joins a team does it inherit all one's past credits? |

hi there Dave yes all the credits follow wherever you go in this project you can go to various teams and stay a little then move on to another team you like better and take all your past credits and give them to your new team :) happy crunching Ian Team Scotland Founder ----> Please Join team Scotland HERE |

Hi Dave, while greatly admiring IanB's restraint in explaining team credits to you without inviting you to join team Scotland, I thought I'd just add that you'd be more than welcome to do so! ;-) Visit the Scotland team |

yes all the credits follow wherever you go in this project.... Not sure that's true, unless CPDN is different from other projects, which wouldn't surprise me; they've always done things slightly differently from everyone else. The credits may indeed follow the user here. In other projects the team gets a "copy" of the user's credits earned while the user is with the team so previous credits are not transferred in, the team earns a copy of credits earned while the user is with the team, which then stay with the team after that user leaves. Off Topic but for team Scotland info: I've just picked up a pair of Coupled timed-out resends. They lost contact around the quarter- and half-distance mark and one's got 3 errors against it already so we'l see how they go next week. Keeps the RAC ticking along. [2nd edit in reply to Les's post above (below)] Thanks for that clarification, Les. So Ian is right. Why would I have doubted him? 8) |

The reason it's different here, is that the credits are re-calculated daily, so if someone leaves a team, after the next re-calc, the figures won't include them. |

hi, there's an even weirder anomaly about the stats on this project which I've mentioned before but nobody picked up on that is the RAC score your given is completely out of whack with the daily credits you produce in my case a daily credit rate of around 10,000 for more than a month and yet my RAC is below half that its not me everybody gets the same treatment if you look up the stats on the BAM stats site they really don't add up unless i'm missing something and the RAC figures are worked out in some really weird way now that i'm unaware of best regards Ian ----> Please Join team Scotland HERE |

RAC has a problem because of a problem with running lots of regionals, and then several coupled ocean. Something to do with the RAC of the regionals, but I forget the details. So it goes up and down, depending on which lot you're currently running. And if you're running a mixture ... Backups: Here |

hi Les, yeah i think there was always a problem with the models never quite giving the same credit as each other, people used to head straight for the ones giving out most credit but this does seem to be a pretty constant thing across the few model types we've had so not like the odd credit levels between model types in past years the oddness is that you do get the credits due for work done you can even see the credits given daily on the BAM stats page but only the RAC for those daily credits over a month are way out just seems somewhere the art of creating an average from a set of numbers has been lost somehow lol just a quirk I suppose and everybody seems to get the same problem so nobody gaining any advantage or anything just OCD types like me liking the numbers to make sense lol best regards Ian ----> Please Join team Scotland HERE |

... a problem with the models never quite giving the same credit as each other ... A lot of this was due to different CPU architectures. I recall that certain models used to work best with AMD, others best with P4, and so forth. I'm a volunteer and my views are my own. News and Announcements and FAQ |

Our CPDN credit totals look to me perfectly correct but for a while there's been something wrong with our CPDN RAC. Mine shows slightly less than 60% of what it should be which is close to 5,000 per day. I run mostly Hadcm. A few years ago our RAC went completely wrong but I can't remember the details. My BoincStats RAC looks accurate. Cpdn news |

Well guys, thanks for all the info., I hadn't gone into the details before. So, just for clarification, is it simply a case of the team getting credits whilst one is with them and no inheritance of earlier credits for the first team? Regards David |

Credits here "belong" to the cruncher. Team credits come and go, when a member joins or leaves. Backups: Here |
