After my laptop's hard disk died last week, I replaced it, downloaded BOINC and reconnected to my climateprediction account. I'm now unable to access either the task which was running prior to the HDD failure, or any new ones. Boinc Manager Status is constantly "Commmunication Deferred". In my website account section, there is are two tasks identified as "In Progress", but they're not running on my machine. Any advice on how to access either the existing task, or cancel it and schedule a new one? Many thanks |

Since you couldn't save your boinc data directory before the crash, and had no backup, the two tasks that were on that hard drive cannot be recovered. They will eventually time out and likely be reissued to someone else. The reason you are not getting tasks now is because there are none available. If you check the Server Status link on the left hand menu, you should see no tasks available for any of the model types. There will eventually be new tasks, but I am unsure of when that will be. |

Thanks for the helpful reply - now I can make sense of the Server Status page. I'll be patient! |
