Is this forum a bit idiosyncratic or do I just not understand how to use it? I am prompted to comment because I am getting no credit and turned to the forums to see if there was any information about this problem. Basically the forum Sort option is not great for finding latest activity. Despite trying all the options it stubbornly says the newest post is 345 days old. The search option came to my rescue and after several attempts at guessing what to search for I found posts only 7 hours old about the credit system not working. Even then clicking on them did not take me seamlessly to the thread I might be interested in. I am sure this is not how it is supposed to work. |

The forum is provided as part of the BOINC software, so it's pretty standard for any BOINC project, though the CPDN one may well be a few versions off the latest. There are sometimes 'stickies' at the top of message board sections that contain information that is of general interest; these stickies often don't change much and can have relatively old 'newest post' dates. However, scroll down beyond the stickies, which have a slightly different icon to identify them, and you'll come across the recent topics. Beyond that, topics move down the list if they're no longer topical - which is the way most people would want it. |

I've just posted about the credits update matter in another thread. JS, on this forum keep an eye on the News thread which is right at the top of the Number Crunching section. That's where the moderators post news items. You can subscribe to that (and any other) thread by pressing the Subscribe button at the top to receive an email alert every time a fresh post is made there. Cpdn news |
