Debian isn't the problem, as lots of people use that. It's the AMD64 part. I know there's a way around that, because it's happened before, but I can't remember the answer. Something about "We don't have it for that system, but would you like to try it anyway?" To which the answer is "Yes". My 64 bit Mint systems say "3.11.0-12-generic" Mint is a derivative of Ubuntu, which is a derivative of Debian. |

The cpdn apps are 32bit. 64bit linux distributions need to have 32bit compatibility libraries installed in order to run them. See this link for general info: http://climateapps2.oerc.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=6746 However, before you do anything, you may want to look at the following post since you are using a recent Debian/Ubuntu distribution and the names of the 32bit libraries appear to have changed since the wiki was last updated for this issue. http://climateapps2.oerc.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=7729&nowrap=true#47953 |

Oh Dear. I keep forgetting about people not knowing about needing 32 bit stuff. And about the sticky at the top of this Linux section. :( Also, the libjpeg.so.62 library is often missing, even after downloading a whole batch of 32 bit stuff. Version 6 is from back in 1995 according to a Wiki article, but is still being used in some of our models for the Show Graphics function. Some of the newer models must be using a newer version, or perhaps libpng, because they DO work. |

Thanks for the answers, I solved it with your help. I followed these steps: # apt-get install multiarch-support # dpkg --add-architecture i386 I did not find the package ia32-libs, I only installed these packages: # apt-get install libstdc++6:i386 libstdc++5:i386 freeglut3:i386 and started to work Starting task hadam3p_anz_n293_2012_1_008592276_0 Starting task hadam3p_anz_n294_2012_1_008592277_0 I changed the thread title to avoid confusion Edit - I can not change the title of the first post, sorry |
