According to the server status page the upload server is down. According to my BOINC client, it's been down for several weeks. Any plans on fixing it or should I find another project to participate in? |

There is more than one upload server - and the relevant one depends on the model type. For the HADAM3P_ANZ models running currently the upload servers appear to be:

Kevin To answer the question that you didn't ask, your computer isn't getting anywhere because a recent scan through the data base showed that your computer was still using BOINC version 7.2.39 As has been posted in our News and Announcements thread, that version has a serious bug which causes download/upload failures. So your computer, along with several thousand others, has been blocked from accessing the server until you upgrade BOINC, and then tell us. |

How do we tell you if we are on the blocked list? |

Sorry, how do we tell you after we upgraded and may have been on a blocked list? |

You just have. :) You should have received an email about it at the time. There were several thousand people whose email message bounced because they'd changed their email address and hadn't done the same with their account page, thus stopping the server from contacting them. It was surmised that perhaps they hadn't changed it, so that they wouldn't get a split pid on the stats sites. But whatever the reason, that was as far as we could go. |

I updated to the latest version (7.2.42) weeks (months?) ago. Didn't realize I had to tell anybody! ;-) Can you update your database so that my iMac can get back to work? Thanks... Kevin |

A request has now been passed on to the project team, who will un-minus that host in due course. Apologies for the inconvenience - the 7.2.39 issue has been an awkward one. |

Hi, appreciate the update. However, it does not appear I've been unblocked yet ... any idea how long this will take? Thanks! |

Oh, that may explain why I have two units sitting on Ready To Report, which they've been doing for weeks now. |

I'm away from my BOINC e-mail archive at the moment but if one of the other mods would bump the e-mail regarding Kevin's un-minussing I would be very grateful. TIA. |

Drishmung Are you saying that you've upgraded your BOINC version? |

Actually, having just carefully reviewed the email, it didn't say anything about "and then tell us". So I updated BOINC and then eventually (since by its nature I just let it run on various projects) wondered why the uploads were not happening. |

Sorry about the email not saying to "tell us". The computers running the faulty version were found by a scan through the data base, which also collected the associated data for the email. But after a BOINC upgrade, this change won't show up until they're unblocked, and, as there were thousands, a lot of which bounced their emails because that had been changed and the associated accounts weren't, there's no way of knowing who has changed it and who hasn't. You've now been added to the "unblock" emails, but, as the project is pretty much in maintenance mode until the end of the month, (post in News and Announcements), I don't know when this will be done. |

Thanks. There's plenty of other projects to work on, I'll just wait in expectation that the project will restart sometime. |

Supposedly the project was coming out of maintenance at the end of June. It's the middle of July and I still can't send updates. Any plans to ever solve this??? |

Your machine is free to download models, which it has done within the last few days. The machine also appears to be uploading fine, as two models completed without error on 15 July (which can't happen if any uploads are missing). What doesn't appear to be working? |

Ah, Kevin I've just consulted my Tarot cards, and they say that you're asking the wrong question. You have 2 ANZ models from way back in June which haven't "reported", but HAVE finished. If you look at the server page for either of those models, you'll see that the last trickle was for Timestep 138,539. If you then look at the server page for the ANZ model that was completed just before, here, you can see that that Timestep is the last one expected. So your 2 models HAVE completed, but have refused to quit, and have most likely been running in a loop ever since, which does happen now and then. So, just Abort them. You won't get the nice Over Success Done messages, but all of the data's on the server, and you've received all of the credit that you're due. PS The upload server showing in red is NOT the one that ANZ models go to, which is in Hobart Tasmania, the southernmost state of Australia. |
