Progress 0.0% still. Is there any way to "force start" this task? Have suspended other BOINC projects, set to run always, no new tasks, & increased resource share for CPDN. Keep in memory while suspended checked. Allocated 200GB (1/3 total) with 50% use while active 100% use inactive @ 75% CPU. Win 8.1 4core intel i3 DSL cable always on & unlimited network usage. Firewall not the issue, other BOINC projects' tasks running OK. Please advise; would really like to see the graphics on this! Thanks. |

All I can think of is checking the task manager to see if it is running. Because these tasks are quite long, about 900 hours on my i3 machine it will take a while before you see progress. I can't remember how long it is but the graphics don't kick in straight away at least on my box which is linux. As you have your computer(s) set to hidden we can't look at the task in question to find out anything about it unless you post a link. Also worth looking at the sticky post at top of the preferences section just to see if there is anything you have missed. |

One thing, have you tried rebooting your system? |

Also, what does the Status column say for that model? |

Status was "Waiting to Run" for two days for both tasks this computer was initially given. Tweaked prefs & rebooted before posting prior message & eight hours later, one started running OK, according to elapsed/remaining time & as verified by the BOINC task graphic and WIN resource monitor. After three hours, the second task started & immediately caused problems as quoted in Number Crunching Message 50768 - Posted 9 Nov 2014 23:14:41 UTC http://climateapps2.oerc.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=7956&nowrap=true#50768 It seems to be a GPU issue based on other forum discussions according to Les' reply to that post. http://climateapps2.oerc.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=7956&nowrap=true#50769 I aborted the problematic 2nd task, rebooted again & after 17 hours of running OK, hadcm3n_xbv5_1940_40_009153177_3 just DISAPPEARED completely without any action on my part. What's going on? Hoping to help save the planet one BOINC task at a time :-) Intel GPU 1760 MB memory 650 hz |

Reset prefs so y'all can see this computer until its CPDN issues are resolved one way or the other. BTW, what &/or where is "the sticky post at top of the preferences section"? Wasn't always a newbie... took a vacation from technology for a while & catching up quickly, thanks to all you wonderful moderators & experts who help the rest of us out! |
