I type \"boinc_cli -install\" at the command prompt and get message \"CreateService failed - The specified service has been marked for deletion. (0x430)\".

I have admin rights and am using boinc_gui v4.05 successfully. (altho I think I have killed my WU mucking about with this!)

Cheers...

The only way I've seen this happen with a service is when it previously existed. Some service removal requests aren't actioned until the system is rebooted, and you'll get this error if you try to reinstall without rebooting.

Hi, i had the same problem , after grant full acces on boinc directory it works. I think there is a problem of security rights with the install of boinc

BOINC is installed in one directory tree. Typically in the Program Files directory. Normal users cannot write into the Program Files directory, nor can they change their write access (these are security features of windows NT/2k/2003/XP operating systems.)

Actually not a question of rights at all, but the boinc4.13 client seems to have solved the problem for me, it was able to install as a service after a restart after upgrade
