Hi I have just started crunching and set my computing preferences without any limitations on cpu time and on percentage of processors. The only project I have running is climateprediction.net, on a 15" 2014 MacBook Pro. I was expected Boinc to fully use 100% of all my 4 cores, but using iStats I see that my task only uses 50 percent of each of my 4 physical cores (and none of the HT cores but that's not an issue). Activity Monitor shows 100% use by the task, which is the weighted sum of all the cores, wether physical or HT. It treats each core as 100%, with a total of 800% when I send 8 "yes" terminal instances. Maybe this is where the problem lies; the Boinc preferences only allows a maximum of 100% cpu use and it is interpreted the same way as Activity Monitor does. Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this ? Thanks |

Just received more tasks, now my cpu is really using 100% of all 4 cores :) False alarm then, my bad. |
