Right. This morning i run a program that has shoved adware everywhere accross my computer and has changed settings that will not change back easily. So im left with one way to go.... a rebuild of my machine. I have one major problem. Im 116 hours through a CPDN work unit. I do not want to lose this work unit. If i take a copy of the boinc directory and put this back after i have rebuilt will it carry on from where it left off? Or are there also registry keys i need to back up. Thanks Jamie |

Hi Jamie, Best thing is to reinstall BOINC then overwrite it with your backup. If you backup to CD you'll also have to make sure that you clear the read-only setting for the restored files and folders before running BOINC. <a href="http://www.teampicard.net"><img src="http://www.teampicard.net/templates/fisubice/images/phpbb2_logo.jpg"></a><a href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/team_display.php?teamid=3">Join us here</a> |

What is pretty crap as i was a decent way through that work unit. However im going to leave cpdn as the only project attached for a few days so it can get a reasonable way into the new work unit.
