Cruncher dhyan samaat is having problems with Win 10 on this machine. Does anyone have any ideas? (Permissions perhaps?) |

This is a shot in the dark, but permissions might be it. I have the following "Group or User Names". Go to "Security" on the BOINC folder. Everyone System Administrators Users All have "Full Control" You might have to add one or more of these names to your list. |

I see errors like then on some work units when I run service installs of BOINC, though not as consistently as he is seeing. But I am running Win7 64-bit, which might make some difference. http://climateapps2.oerc.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=19181144 I suggest that he try a non-service install of BOINC if that is the case. And I suppose certain anti-viruses might cause that sort of thing; I avoid them like the plague. |

I had a look at the Workunits for that PC. On the first page ALL had 3 failed tasks & no completions, so I'd suggest this is a model issue. Saw Darwin, Vista, Win 7, 8.1 & 10 as an OS. But my feeling without counting was that the percentage of Win10 could be higher than the % of machines visible on the results page. |

Hi Martin That person has been communicating via the project's email, and by coincidence he posted again a few hours ago, to say that he's given up on Windows 10 on that machine and gone back to Windows 7. |
