Built a new computer with an i7 6700K on Z170

prime95 stable and ran memtest86

Windows10

any issues on Windows 10? I keep getting multiple crashes when running just three work units....

The person in question in the thread previous to yours has Win 10 problems.

Not sure if the same suggestions apply to your problem, but worth looking into.

All the ones in the previous thread have "diagnostics_init_unhandled_exception_monitor(): Creating ExceptionMonit2orThread failed, errno 12"

whereas this computer has, "start_timer_thread(): CreateThread() failed, errno 0"


However with my ignorance of Windows increasing with each new release, I am not saying there is not a common factor other than windows10!

So my CPU (memory controller?) bit the dust... new CPU running at stock with no issues so far....

BUT

in my research I found a reported bug in the Skylake processors that is being fixed with a BIOS update
