Having mentioned BOINC/dev reminds me that there's been some recent posts there about problems with the latest version of Ubuntu

Off topic: Mint depends heavily on Ubuntu and there have been quite a few things that have gone wrong. LibreOffice: I had to go to a pre-release for the fix. There is a lot of activity on that topic. Synaptic was impacted to a lesser degree in that it functions, but the filters do not always work properly, leaving out some entries that should have been included. I do not know for sure that the BOINC Manager was adversely effected, but since it fixed itself, the probability is that it was not, at least in any major way. I suspect that some parameter did not properly install during the previous boot.

Thank you for you assistance, it is greatly appreciated.

Hi James,
Nice to see another Linux fan. In case you run 64bit Mint, you will need 32bit libraries so your models do not finish in errors. In case you haven't fixed that check this thread (sticky at the top of Unix/Linux section).

Thank you for the link. I finally had a chance to view it. I never installed or deleted an i386 package. When I install a new package, I try to make sure to install the dbg and doc packages. Adding the i386 packages should not be any more trouble. The problem will be to find and install missing dbg, doc, and i386 packages for previously installed packages.

The last few batches of work have been windows only. I have two machines running BOINC under WINE at the moment. I understand they are working on a linux version of WAH2 v8.24 but until this is complete WINE is the main option though there may be some of the HADAM3P tasks along at some point.

I have one machine which continues with the native Linux version in hope.
