Using BOINC Manager on a Mac, the "remove" button is greyed out, average work done = 0 and I keep getting "communication deferred" for an hour. I was told I installed this using something other than BOINC manger like BAM, but I don't think so. Anyone know what file, folder, or file entry I need to delete to get rid of this? Any help would be appreciate. -Andy Borne |

As with the Windows and Linux versions of BOINC Manager, the remove button is greyed out on the Mac version until the project is explicitly selected in the projects tab. I know it's an obvious thing to say but I've been caught out often enough by that in the past to mention it now. The "average work done" will be zero because your Mac and Windows machines do not seem to have downloaded any tasks and won't therefore have any credits (i.e. no work has been done). Note that the average work done reported against the project is for all machines on an account. The "communication deferred" message probably just means that BOINC Manager is trying to get work but there isn't any at the moment, so it defers the next try for an hour. So it may be that there is nothing unusual about the installation, unless you confirm that the remove button is greyed out even when the project is highlighted. |
