Looking at the minimum spec for machines running CPDN work I see that my 1.6GHz atom netbook with 2GB ram is on the minimum however the task it is running since being resurrected will have taken a total of about 60 days once completed. Is this really helpful to the project still? I also wonder if the sticky on backups is still at all relevant. Though I have used backups occasionally not so much to get work to complete that has crashed but when trying to work out what has gone wrong. |

Hi Dave The backup stuff has gone. While the speed for your Atom is a little low, it's the architect that's the problem. Atoms will go into low power mode to save the battery. 2 months may be pushing it, but there's no way to know what will be accepted these days. |

Thanks Les, Atoms will go into low power mode to save the battery. That is with the atom plugged in to the mains all the time, so it is only when as happened the other week someone puts a digger shovel through a cable that it has to run on battery for any length of time. It is only running Linux tasks at present so perhaps I should restrict it to the short models when they come back on line. |
