What is the correct procedure to upgrade from 4.05 to 4.09.

Also is there a way I can do it without losing my progress with CPDN and seti?

Exit the BOINC client. (just exit, don't detach any projects)

Install 4.09 on top of 4.05.

No progress will be lost. :)
