I just started on CP and my first work unit shows that it will take over 1000 hours to complete. Is this right? Seti and Predictor have about 3 hour WU\'s, so I was a little bit surprised. Should it really take this long? If so, how would recent credit average work when it takes a month and a half of computation to finish a WU?

I can't answer it better than the FAQ can, at...

I started out at around 860 hours estimated to completion, and then for some reason it jumped to over a thousand. Now it's just as mysteriously snapped back to the proper place-- approximately 860 - (time spent). If you're not having some kind of burp as I did, and are just wondering why they're that big at all, then the FAQ says it pretty well-- when you consider this is a climate prediction project, it has to run for a long time. :)
