Not high priority (..unless the problem indicates completed work is sent to the Windows equivalent of /dev/null). My machine has completed several climate prediction workloads (a few weeks of CPU core time) over the last month, however no increase in points has been registered. Updating the project appeared to communicate with the project, but had no effect on this. Same for synchronizing with BOINCstatsBAM! How should I troubleshoot when I get a chance? Thank you. ----- BOINC Manager 7.8.2 (x64) Windows 10 |

Hi tasks are still being processed and the data used by the researchers. A few weeks back now the credit script broke, believed to be a problem with the amount of data processed. The processing of credits based on trickle up messages was designed at a time when tasks could take months to complete so if a task crashed 5 months through six months of crunching, appropriate credit could be given. Now that tasks are much shorter in time if not in cpu cycles the answer may be to go back to giving credits on completed tasks but not being an insider I don't know how talks/work on that is going. https://www.cpdn.org/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=8448 The above thread in the number crunching section has some more information/comments on the situation as do some others scattered around the boards. Bottom line is the science is still working but the project may be losing a significant number of crunchers who value the feedback they get or don't get through the credit system. |

Ah, if only I had searched for "credit" rather than "points"/"score". I'll wait and see what happens then. Thank you. |

I've had a similar issue, tasks that take 4 to 7 days to complete advancing to 100% and then disappearing, with no increment reported to the work done counter on Boinc's Projects tab. I "worry" about this in the sense of not wanting to waste the cycles I'm donating. If they're going to accomplishing useful work, great. If not, and I just can't tell, I'd just as soon donate the spare cycles to other Boinc projects that I support. Any idea if the reporting function will be fixed? Or when? |

Sure. After a month or so I just wasn't sure whether the project maintainers knew or it was specific to my machine etc. or - most importantly - whether the results were actually going anywhere. Scores went up ~7% over the weekend, so I think scripts are kicking again. Thank you. |
