had power outage when the lights came back on the WU was gone with errer (mising open tag in state file) the computer requsted a new host ID and new WU

old WU was over 50% done. are zip files still on computer and are they of any value?

This is a known problem with BOINC. Unfortunately there is now no way back - you can't now recover the lost WU and the work files can just be deleted.

Pending a fix, the advice has to be:

1. Take regular backups of the BOINC folder.

2. Suspend BOINC and then exit, even when performing a regular shutdown of Windows.
