CPDN is VERY picky in regards to system stability. Try running a testing program to see if your machine finishes successfully. May also be an error with RAM as well, so might be worth running memtest as well. |

I ram memtest last week and all was clear. Thanks for the input, any other ideas? |

it could be a conflict in something else you're running? Have you tried the BOINC 4.09, it seems to do the "pre-emptive task scheduling" better (in case you run CPDN with other BOINC projects). |

I have a WU that has been running for a few weeks now (<A HREF="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=221395&PHPSESSID=30daec1e3faa9914cccf31be84d0ffbd">http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=221395&PHPSESSID=30daec1e3faa9914cccf31be84d0ffbd</A>). During this past weekend it crashed with the same error 0xfffffffb. Subsequent automatic WU downloads (8 in total) all also crashed with the 0xfffffffb error. With the task manager I found 4 active clients (but none of them were running : 0% CPU). A reboot seemed to cure to problem for now; a new WU is now crunching. But I think the client still contains a problem. Windows XP-SP2 [P4 2.26GHz non-HT; 1GB RAM] BOINC v4.09 client v4.04 |
