After upgrading to BOINC 4.09, each time I try to start the BOINC GUI I get a popup that says \"Failed to cleanup the Windows Sockets Interface\" and the GUI doesn\'t start. I am running BOINC as a service, and I can see (in the task manager) that hadsm3um_4.03 is running, but I would like to use the GUI to track progress. This is Windows XP Pro with SP1 (but not SP2). |

Hi, you have to run "one or the other", i.e. the service or the GUI, both will conflict and potentially crash the model? |

You still have to choose one or the other though. <br>John Keck -- BOINCing since 2002/12/08 -- <a href="http://www.boinc.dk/index.php?page=user_statistics&project=cpdn&userid=191"><img border="0" height="80" src="http://191.cpdn.sig.boinc.dk?188"></a> |

I had this problem as well on my laptop, and it cleared up after I started running Starfield as screensaver and leaving BOINC as CLI only :-) <img src="http://boinc.mundayweb.com/cpdn/stats.php?userID=322&team=off"> |
