Hi folks, I turned on my WINE to feed on the latest WIN bonanza and after few days my BOINC crashed with the following Frotran run-time error. WUs were from batch 698, BOINC 7.6.22, Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, kernel 3.13.0-137-generic See image |

I think it may be worth upgrading BOINC to 7.8.3 which I think is the latest for Windows, though, my two tasks from the previous batch have only been running for just over a day so I may be in ofr a shock myself! I will also keep an eye out to see if anyone experiences this running natively under Windows. If a more widespread problem is there, I would expect to see evidence of it soon. My box with WINE is a bit slower than yours as well as not running 24/7 so not sure how long I need to wait to see if mine are safe. |

Looking at the one from that machine which shows as having an error. https://www.cpdn.org/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=20965527 It has as part of the stderr out "finish file present" too long and I am pretty certain that the maximum file length bug was fixed in 7.8.3 So I am wondering if the real problem is that task which is shown as having failed, taking out others? |

Thanks Dave, A second one crashed https://www.cpdn.org/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=20966487 with a different error. So I went for update to the latest WIN version as you suggested. That went smooth but no WUs to test. It's been a little hassle as on a second machine I use a separate WINEPREFIX, but I did manage to update it without breaking the currently running WUs. |
