After some month I'm starting boinc again on my main computer, CPID tasks are downloading, but at start they always brake with computational error. The computer was not changed.. same hardware, operating system... I've already ~1mil credits on this machine, so it was working and will be working somehow. The Error might happen because of: - Maybe I've done some windows update in the meantime. - I can remember, that some special java version was needed for cpid to run well. Maybe I've updated that and now it's incompatible. Can you give me more info about the java version needed? i can't find any information. Please help me. I'm using Win7 |

If you go to the your account page from link at the bottom of this page, then click on computers you can look at the tasks for that particular computer. At the moment I don't see anything that crashed at the start later than December https://www.cpdn.org/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=20912123 That was with a segmentation violation that is almost certainly a problem with the particular task. Don't know if there are some listed on there as still being in progress because they haven't been reported yet? I know a few days ago a batch was withdrawn because of problems in some of the files sent out. That has been corrected but batches 706,7 and 8 which are the corrected batches still have higher than usual failure rate. |

Thanks. Sorry, the forum was down for some days, so finally i could download some more tasks, that always crashed after half an hour or very soon after start. a quick list of tasks downloaded and failed https://www.cpdn.org/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=21047021 https://www.cpdn.org/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=21047024 https://www.cpdn.org/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=21047030 https://www.cpdn.org/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=21047039 https://www.cpdn.org/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=21037586 https://www.cpdn.org/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=21022244 https://www.cpdn.org/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=21035932
<core_client_version>7.4.42</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> (unknown error) - exit code -1073741205 (0xc000026b) </message> <stderr_txt> Suspended CPDN Monitor - Suspend request from BOINC... So what does this mean? Thanks for answers, i think cpdn is one of the best projects on the boinc network, so i would love to be part of it again. |

For starters, I would change your setting so BOINC doesn't suspend your tasks. CPDN tasks do not like to be suspended. |

Thanks. Sorry, the forum was down for some days, so finally i could download some more tasks, that always crashed after half an hour or very soon after start. What I would do is first do what WB8ILI said. That might help. It's been since June since a task was completed successfully, and even a trickle returned to the project for credit. What else I would do in your situation... 1. Exclude ProgramData\BOINC from virus scanning in your anti-virus program. It may have nothing to do with your problems, but it might and doesn't hurt anything. 2. If you haven't cleaned out the inside of your computer in a long time, use canned/compressed air to do so when the computer is shut down. Dust on the processor heatsink and in the power supply, can lead to overheating and instability when stressing the computer. 3. Limit the number of cores on your computer that boinc uses to 50%. You can do that in BOINC Manager. That would be 4 cores on your 8 logical core processor. This would also decrease the stress on your system. Try those tips and see if you have more success. |

I use only 50% of CPU (4/8Core) My 16GB of Ram are enough for the tasks My CPU temperature is constant at ~40 °C (Tj.Max = 80°C) I've no Antivirus running on this computer, or other software that could interfere with boinc I've noticed that I run Boinc Client 7.4.42 on this computer, while my other computer and laptop use 7.6.22 and it works there. I will try upgrade to the newest version (7.8.3) of the boinc client. Maybe this helps. |

Tankbuster - As I wrote before, on the Options tab, make sure you are using 100% of the CPU TIME (not necessarily all of the cores) and uncheck everything in the second section that might interrupt the tasks. |

https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=79695 https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=80467 https://github.com/BOINC/boinc/issues/1553 I've found multiple threads, with this error code (0xc000026b), and they all say it's because windows shutting down, while boinc tasks are up. I've never had a problem back then, using the "shutdown -s -t xxxx" command, but I'll try to manually shutdown the pc every time now, so boinc tasks can shut down properly. I'll keep you updated if it helps ^^ |

Tankbuster - I am suggesting you UNCHECK the two boxes you still have checked to stop BOINC from interrupting (suspending) your CPDN tasks. I am not 100% sure this will be a cure for your tasks crashing, but over the years this is almost always suggested as the first thing to address. |
