All of my outcomes are the same: client error. If my computer is barfing errors, how do I fix it? Does the following mean anything? 4.05 Incorrect function. (0x1) - exit code 1 (0x1) 1 0 |

Hi Dave, That error was definitely generated by the CPDN application rather than BOINC. Do you get an error box displayed when it fails or is there any further information in the stdout.* or stderr.* files in your BOINC directory? <a href="http://www.teampicard.net"><img src="http://www.teampicard.net/templates/fisubice/images/phpbb2_logo.jpg"></a><a href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/team_display.php?teamid=3">Join us here</a> |

hmmm, that's a generic error # so not much help. generally if you can get to the first trickle then your computer should be OK for CPDN, so since you made it to 10 it should have been OK. I imagine is was something like a system crash or perhaps errors on your hard drive that caused the CPDN workunit to "burp" at that timestep. You may want to run a "scandisk" and perhaps "defrag" to double-check? It's possible that it could be a scheduling/pre-empting conflict, version 4.09 of BOINC is probably better to run now than 4.05 for this problem, so you may want to try that (it's on the "Model download" link here now). |

You should have had an email about these - looks as though your spam filter (possibly at the ISP) blocked it. Only one file was lost and it was not vital. As you have only one machine there is no further action needed - it won't recur. |

Hi, I also have the same sort of problem, but so far not much has turned up in stderror, stdout etc. Tho' the client crashes if I try to view the graphics. The client keeps crunching away, I don't seem to get trickles, it just uploads at the end of the run. Any ideas what's going on here? Thanks Richard |

If you get a crash when you try to view the graphics, this is likely to be a problem with the graphics card. The first course is to check that you have the latest drivers - updating them may well cure the problem. If not, ask again for further suggestions. If you can say what graphics card you have that would help. |

I don't know if the graphics problem is related to the errors once the results are uploaded? This time I have avoided trying to view the graphics, and have a bout 4 hours till the next result is finnished, so if this one is ok that's it. If it still doesn't work, then maybe I'm better off crunching something else, since it's just a waste if my computer churns out rubbish, I may as well turn it off instead. |

I realise I'm resurrecting an old question here, but I'm pretty sure I've tracked down the source of the <b>Incorrect function. (0x1) - exit code 1 (0x1)</b> error. It happens every time I kill the CPDN controlling process hadsm3_*, leaving the worker process hadsm3um_* running. The worker can only be killed using task manager or by a reboot.
