As far as I am aware, this is true for most projects. The computers remain with a number even if the account is deleted though they will of course no longer be associated with any account.

For this project, the information about the computer that created a model may be of interest to the researchers at a later date, so once they've run a model, they stay.

Also, in the past week or so, the server software was updated to the latest version, and some things are now very different.
