I installed BOINC two days ago on a double Xeon machine running Win2K. It seemed to be working fine (CPDN on one CPU and SETI on the other) until this morning, when I double-clicked on the BOINC icon in the taskbar and nothing happened. The icon\'s context menu also didn\'t come up. When I tried starting BOINC from the Start menu I got a message box with the above error. I tried rebooting the machine but the problem remains. The CPUs are at 100% but the BOINC GUI refuses to show itself.

The "failed to clean..." error is normal, if you try to start more than one instance of BOINC. You can use the command line to reset the project: 'cd' to your BOINC directory, enter "boinc_cli -reset_project URL" where URL has to be replaced by the actual project URLs. Note: you will lose any unsent work.
