And with 128 threads if you want to use them all with the openifs tasks when they appear it will need somewhere in the order of 640GB RAM to go with it. Not to mention some serious cooling at 280W TDP. And you won't need a lot of other bits and bobs connected to need a pretty serious PSU as well! |

Yeah, for 1/4th the cost of this CPU you could buy an entire computer with 8 cores and 16GB of RAM. |

Roundabout 6000 € don't lie around and waiting, but that will cost a TR 3990 system. And maybe... that will be my last computer in my lifetime. And honestly, better than purchasing 20.000 $ for a dual XEON system, that will much more power consumption afford. |

The 8 Core plain system of Apple Macpro is more expensive than a similar equipped system with 64 Core Threadripper. |
